Ryan Reynolds’ “Unforgivable” Act During Safe House Filming

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Ryan Reynolds has admitted that during the 2012 filming of Safe House he committed an “unforgivable” act in front of Denzel Washington. The Deadpool star recalled at the Toronto International Film Festival, ahead of the screening of the John Candy documentary, that his phone ringtone disrupted Washington and made him furious.
The 48-year-old actor said: “He had been shot, he was wounded, he was dying, confessing to all the terrible things he had done. Tears started streaming down his face. And suddenly we heard—during the second take, since the first one had technical issues—we heard Frank Sinatra singing: ‘Come fly with me, let’s fly, let’s fly away.’” According to Reynolds, Washington immediately shouted: “Whose phone is that, you idiot?”
Reynolds admitted he pretended not to know: “I stood up, looked around at all the stunt guys near me, and said: ‘Whose phone is that? This is unforgivable!’”
Safe House, directed by Daniel Espinosa, was produced on an $85 million budget and grossed over $208 million worldwide. Vera Farmiga, Brendan Gleeson, and Joel Kinnaman also starred in the film.
